The short answer is YES, the election results always have a dramatic effect on the highway construction here. Specifically, the result of the last election is that the new government stopped procurement on all prepared highway constructions in south & east Slovakia (including stopping a tender-in-progress for the R2 Soroska tunnel), and is hugely going to prioritize construction in the north-west. Specifically, almost all the money will go into the missing sections of D1 and D3 around Zilina.
